Recipe for lime tincture

Lime flowers have been known in natural medicine for centuries as a natural cold remedy. It helps especially in diseases of the upper respiratory tract. It has a diaphoretic and antipyretic effect. Therefore, it is worth preparing a tincture to cure ourselves during the autumn and winter colds.

  • one and a half cups of linden flowers
  • 0,75 l spirit 95%
  • 0,5 l water
  • 0,5 l of honey (preferably linden honey)
  • juice of half a lemon

Mix the spirit with water and set aside for 24 hours. Put the lime blossoms in a jar, pour the alcohol and set aside for 10 days away from the sun. Move the jar every day. Pour off the liquor, strain the flowers. Add honey and lemon juice to the infusion. Set aside for 3 months to decant. For the first two weeks, move the jar to dissolve the honey. Filter the liqueur and pour into bottles.
