Recipe for mint liqueur with basil

Mint liqueur with basil is a variant of the traditional mint liqueur seasoned with basil. Mint seasoned with basil takes on an interesting, dry, strong flavor.

The liqueur is simple to make and matures quickly. It can be consumed already after three months.

  • 4 sprigs of mint
  • 1 sprig of basil
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 cups of water
  • ½ liter of spirit

Boil the water with sugar, let it cool. Pour syrup and alcohol over mint and basil. Set aside for a month. After a month, filter, strain the herbs. Pour the liqueur into bottles and set aside to mature for two months. The tincture is dry in taste. You can of course use more sugar.
