Strawberry liqueur

Recipe for strawberry liqueur

Recipe for strawberry liqueur

  • 1 kg of strawberries
  • ½ kg of sugar
  • 1 l of vodka
  • teaspoon of citric acid

Fresh strawberries straight from the forest pick, rinse and drain. Put into the jar and pour the alcohol. Close the jar and put it in a sunny place. After 12 hours or 24 hours maximum, strain the liqueur through thick gauze or filter paper (soaking wild strawberries in alcohol for too long will make the liqueur taste bitter). Prepare a syrup made of sugar, a glass of water and citric acid (citric acid will preserve the color). Mix the hot syrup with the tincture, pour into dark bottles and quickly put them into cold water, cork the bottles. The strawberry liqueur is fit for consumption after two months of ageing.
